The Green Hub visit, offered under the SES6021 course, gave students a deeper understanding of Hong Kong's cultural heritage conservation and sustainable living practices. This experiential learning directly supports SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG 14 (Life Below Water).
Through guided tours and hands-on activities, students explored how low-carbon lifestyles and community engagement contribute to water management educational opportunities and cooperation on water security. By examining sustainable practices at Green Hub, participants learned about protecting fresh-water ecosystems and the importance of maintaining ecosystems and their biodiversity. The visit also highlighted practical technologies towards aquatic ecosystem damage prevention, while encouraging conscious water usage in the wider community.
Discussions on sustainable consumption helped students understand how their choices can reduce overfishing and support sustainable fisheries. By connecting heritage conservation with environmental stewardship, this field trip empowered future educators to integrate sustainability into their teaching and daily lives.
