MA(EfS) Field Trip to T·PARK: Advancing SDG 6 & SDG 14 through Sludge Treatment and Aquatic Protection

16:00-19:00
T·PARK

The visit to T·PARK as part of the SES6020 course field trips provides students with an in-depth understanding of Hong Kong's advanced sludge treatment technology and modern "waste-to-energy" innovations. This experiential learning directly supports SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG 14 (Life Below Water).

Through comprehensive interactive exhibitions and professional guided tours, students explore critical water management educational opportunities and the importance of cooperation on water security. By learning how proper sludge treatment prevents pollutants from entering our oceans, participants gain practical insights into technologies towards aquatic ecosystem damage prevention.

The trip also highlights the significance of maintaining ecosystems and their biodiversity, offering knowledge that supports sustainable fisheries and raises awareness of overfishing. Students discuss strategies for promoting conscious water usage in the wider community and deepen their understanding of fresh-water ecosystems. This field trip effectively integrates classroom knowledge with practical application, empowering future educators to champion environmental protection in daily life.
