This Guizhou Ecological Exploration Tour directly supports SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG 14 (Life Below Water). By exploring iconic freshwater ecosystems such as the Huangguoshu Waterfall and Zhijin Cave, participants gain practical insights into water management educational opportunities and the importance of cooperation on water security. The tour also highlights fresh-water ecosystems (community outreach) and the need to maintain ecosystems and their biodiversity, especially in fragile karst landscapes. Through visits to the Guizhou Guanling Fossil Group National Geopark and Buyi Stone Village, students learn about local efforts in promoting conscious water usage in the wider community and technologies towards aquatic ecosystem damage prevention. This journey offers a unique blend of geoscience and ecological learning, contributing to sustainable fisheries awareness and addressing challenges like overfishing in freshwater systems.
