Dr Cheng has been awarded a Gold Medal at the Silicon Valley International Invention Festival (SVIIF) 2026 for her project:

“BioSentinel Passive eDNA/eRNA Enrichment and Sampling System”

This invention provides a portable, flexibly deployable passive eDNA/eRNA enrichment and sampling system enables efficient large-scale collection, saving 90% of time and 75% of cost. It supports eco friendly, high throughput, non-destructive biota monitoring for environmental health and sustainability.
