The visit to Chungking Mansions, offered by SES6026 course, was led by staff from Christian Action, enabling students to explore the building in depth. They not only encountered a wide variety of culturally distinctive items and visited diverse shops but also visited the Center for Refugees and the Diversity Hub.
Through these exhibitions and guided explanations, students gained a more comprehensive understanding of Hong Kong’s multicultural development. This experience allowed them to appreciate the vibrancy and inclusiveness embodied by Chungking Mansions, where different cultures intersect, interact, and integrate, showcasing the unique diversity of Hong Kong society and reinforcing the importance of crosscultural understanding and respect.
