You are cordially invited to attend the Research Seminar by Prof AN Taicheng organized by the Department of Science and Environmental Studies (SES).  

Professor AN Taicheng is currently a distinguished professor and Dean at School of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, as well as Founding Director of Institute of Environmental Health and Pollution Control, Guangdong University of Technology, China. His research interests include: 

1. The transportation mechanisms, fate prediction and health effect of emerging organic contaminants;
2. Synthesis, characterization, optimization and application of novel environmental friendly catalysts as well as natural mineral materials in environmental remediation;
3. Applications of various advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), especially heterogeneous photocatalysis for the degradation of emerging containments and inactivation of pathogens in water and air. 

He has had over 150 patents (80 issued) and published over 600 referred SCI papers in many international reputation journals, such as Nature Comm., PNAS, JACS and Environ Sci & Technol. He was selected as most cited Chinese authors in Environmental Sciences by Elsevier’s Scopus from 2014 to 2025 with continuous 12 years, and Clarivate Global Highly Cited Scientist of 2023. He is winner of NSF for Distinguished Young Scholars in China, Distinguished Professor of the Changjiang Scholars and the Pearl River Scholars Program, Recipient of the National Thousand Talents Program and Young Scientist Winner of Scientific Committee on Problems of the Environment. He is Founding Editor in Chief of Global Environmental Sciences, and also served as Associated Editor of Applied Catalysis B: Environmental and Critical Review in Environ Sci. Technol.
